Situation
Signing up new customers was a leaky process. Manual checks dragged on for days, many people gave up, and weak identity checks let fraud and duplicate accounts through, all while the rules were getting stricter.
Action
I designed a sign up that lets everyone in instantly at low limits, then raises those limits as they verify themselves against the national ID in real time, with a photo and liveness check for higher tiers. Rigour and speed sit in the same flow.
Impact
Customers get started in minutes instead of days, there are fewer duplicate and fraudulent accounts, and the whole approach maps cleanly to the central bank's tiers.
Insight
Tiering is the unlock. Let everyone in at low limits, then let them earn higher ones with stronger proof, and growth stops fighting with compliance.
