Made instant transfers work across every mobile wallet in the market
Any wallet to any wallet, in real time, built so it can never pay twice or lose money.
Situation
People could move money easily within one network, but sending across networks meant a slow, costly cash out and re deposit. It was a leading reason customers left, and it all had to stay within the central bank's rules.
Action
I designed a real time transfer service across the national wallet interoperability rail. I designed the failure paths first, so every transfer either completes exactly once or is reversed cleanly, with anti money laundering checks built into the flow.
Impact
Customers now send money instantly across any network, with automatic reversal when something fails and far less support load from transfers gone wrong. Interoperability became an asset instead of a source of errors.
Insight
Getting each transfer to happen exactly once, with automatic reversal, is the difference between an interoperability feature and an interoperability liability. You design the exceptions first.
