Scaled a mobile money agent network without scaling the back office
Onboarding, float, and commissions handled automatically across the whole network.
Situation
The agent network is the physical heart of mobile money, but it ran on manual work. Agents ran out of float in the middle of the day, onboarding took weeks, and commissions were worked out by hand and argued over constantly.
Action
I designed a platform that brings agents on quickly, tracks their float in real time, tops them up automatically before they run dry, and works out and pays commissions by rule across the whole network.
Impact
The network can now grow without the back office growing with it: faster onboarding, fewer times agents run out of float, and commission disputes settled by a clear, traceable statement.
Insight
Float is the network's oxygen. Spotting and topping it up has to be automatic, or you lose transactions no one ever sees.
