Situation
A national bank's payment platform had to take on thousands of merchants and clear tens of thousands of transactions a day, safely and within regulation. The old design could not keep up without risking slowdowns and errors.
Action
I designed the platform to grow sideways rather than just get bigger, breaking the heavy work into parts that scale on their own. I made the counting and checking of money a first class part of the design, so nothing goes missing as volume rises.
Impact
The platform now supports more than 10,000 merchants and over 70,000 transactions a day, growing with the business while staying reliable and fully reconciled.
Insight
At payment volume, being able to see and check every transaction is not an extra. It is how a platform grows without ever losing track of money.
